Appointments

Surgeries operate at various times between 8:30am and 6:30pm, Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays.  We have a staff training afternoon every third Wednesday of the month and the surgery is closed from 1pm onwards on those days.

We plan to start a trial online appointment booking service in the very near future.  If you are interested in taking part, please contact the reception manager for login details.  Once you have these click here for the access page.

N.B. The telephones will usually be diverted between 1:00pm – 2:00pm daily, when in the case of an emergency you can obtain the contact numbers for Croydoc and NHS Direct.

We have an appointment system for all surgeries. This practice has an 'individual lists' system for our patients.  This means that once you have been allocated a doctor, we shall always try and make sure that you see the same doctor whenever you request a routine appointment, except when he/she is on leave.  This system has almost universal approval of our patients, who see the continuity of care as a great bonus.  We will endeavour to offer you a routine appointment with the doctor within 48 hours and a practice nurse within 24 hours of your request. Although appointment times are specified, we can not guarantee that you will be seen precisely at your appointment time. Please remember, an appointment is for one person only. Where another member of the family needs consultation, even for identical conditions, please make a separate appointment. Please let us know as soon as possible if you are unable to attend for your appointment, so that we can offer your time slot to another patient.

Extended Hours

In addition to our normal surgery times we are able to offer a limited number of appointments during Extended Hours.  These appointments are intended for those patients that would find it difficult to attend during our normal surgery times.  In addition to Extended Hours we are also able to offer a limited number of appointments outside of our normal surgery times during the day, for example at lunchtimes or early afternoon.  If you would like to make an appointment during our Extended Hours or at a time outside of our normal hours then please advise the receptionist and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

Please telephone the surgery before 11:00am if you require a home visit. This should be regarded as a service for the genuinely housebound or seriously ill. Home visiting takes up a great deal of doctor time and we do ask patients to attend the surgery wherever possible. Doctors can normally see approximately four patients in the time it takes to visit one.

For patients who require advice on the telephone, the reception staff will note all relevant details and the doctor or nurse will phone back after surgery. Please telephone after 2:30pm for all results when the receptionist will have more time to deal with your call.

Prescription requests can be brought into the surgery at any time and left in the designated box at reception. If you wish to have your prescription posted to you please supply a stamped addressed envelope and allow extra time for postal delays. Alternatively, you can fax your request to us.The prescriptions will normally be available for collection within 48 hours. We do not accept requests over the telephone as errors can occur. We shall be starting an online prescription request service shortly and those of you interested in this facility should contact the reception manager for further information.  Once you have obtained the necessary details you can access the site by clicking here.
